1 hour full length heart-opening hatha yoga sequence (Valentine's Yoga Practice)
Intro to the theme first, practice starts at 1:15 Join me for a 1 hour yoga class sequenced with in mind to expand and create space around your heart centre. Through an exploration of yoga postures we will add more mobility and space to the chest, help remove tension from around the heart, release any emotional upset and allow joyful emotions to flood in. Celebrating Imbolc - Manipura/Solar Plexus Chakra activation - 1 hour full-length yoga class
Intro to Imbolc and the theme first, yoga practice starts at 2:19 Join me for a 1-hour class where we are using the theme of the fire festival "Imbolc" as a base from which to connect with our Solar Plexus Chakra. Imbolc falls on 1st and 2nd February and marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox. It is a celebration of the returning of the sun, the lengthening days and the transition from winter towards spring. A time when our acceptance of Winter is giving way to an urge to move forward and become active once again. This is a practice to connect you to your fire centre and includes a focus on the breathing practice Kapalabhati and a variety of yoga postures designed to stretch, twist, strengthen and compress the area around your abdominals where the solar plexus chakra resides.
45-minute hatha yoga practice to release tight neck and shoulders
Short intro - practice starts at 0:29 This is a 45 minute yoga class that I have sequenced to help release tension from the neck and shoulders as well as deepen range of motion and therefore increase flexibility and circulation around the shoulders. The class is suitable for all abilities, including beginners. You will need either a yoga strap or something similar like a belt, tie or karate/dressing gown belt).
35-minute mindful yoga practice - focus on stretch - gentle yoga practice
Yoga sequence starts at 01:56 (I always start with a little intro). Join me for a 35 minute yoga practice bringing your awareness to how we can practice mindfulness on our mats. Mindfulness simply means "paying attention on purpose" and specifically in the present moment so within our yoga practice we can focus our awareness on our breath and on how our body feels from one moment to the next. This is a gentler practice focusing on stretching and tuning into how our bodies are feeling. Staying nice and low focusing on seated and supine yoga postures.
1 hour full-length grounded hatha yoga practice - easing back after a break - get back on your mat
Yoga sequence starts at 00:31 (I always start with a little intro). This new yoga sequence was taken from one of my live Friday morning Zoom classes. Join me for a 1-hour class where we are exploring a grounded yoga practice to reconnect with our bodies after a break from practice or simply to enjoy a gentler practice. We start with an exploration of Full Yogic Breath, followed by some postures on all fours, moving to sun salutations, some standing postures - including a balance - and closing with a seated forward fold, countered with gentle bridge exploration. Closes with a lovely relaxing savasana.
1 hour full-length hatha Yoga Practice to Detox the Mind and Body
Yoga sequence starts at 2:00 (I always start with a little intro). This new yoga sequence was taken from one of my live Friday morning Zoom classes. Join me for a 1-hour class where we are using our yoga practice to wipe the slate clean, helping to rid the body of toxins, waste and unwanted materials from the body as well as the mind. All postures will stimulate circulatory, digestive, and lymphatic systems and not forgetting of course that stress & anxiety are toxic to the body.
1-hour full length Hatha Yoga Practice/Class to Stretch Tight Hamstrings (healthy hamstring focus)
Intro to the theme first, practice starts at 1:05 A practice focusing on easing out tension in the hamstrings in particular and movement around the hip joints too. Suitable for all levels, including beginners. Most people tend to hold tension in their hamstrings, so this is a practice to promote happy, healthy and strong hamstrings. Could be useful for sports people, including runners, where hamstrings can get super tight. Focusing on releasing hamstrings can be great for low back pain too. Thanks for watching. Namaste!
Building to a Peak Pose
*This is a recording from my live online Zoom Class* This 1-hour yoga practice prepares the body to build towards a more challenging "peak pose" called Compass or Sundial Pose. The sequence focuses on hip-opening and shoulder-opening poses and I show you how to approach this more advanced yoga posture. Time for pranayama and savasana included as always.
Shift Your Perspective - Inversions
*This is a recording from my live online Zoom Class* This 1-hour yoga practice focuses on inversions within our yoga practice. Inversions are postures that bring the head below the heart, and we explore a variety of postures that bring us to this position building to bridge and shoulder stand (as an option). Inversions are of huge benefit to the body, they help boost the circulation, the immune system, the lymphatic system as well as helping to release our happy hormones which lead to increased feelings of wellbeing. Always time for relaxation at the end.
