Yoga Day at Cobham.jpg

Approximate timings:

9.45 - 10.00am: Arrivals and settling in

10.00am - 11.30am: Hatha Yoga Class

11.30am - 12.00pm: Break

12.00pm - 12.30pm: Cacao Ceremony

12.30pm - 1.15pm: Restorative Sound Bath

1.15pm - 1.30pm: Closing & Departures

The above schedule gives an idea of how our time together will unfold. Most important to know is that there will be a hatha yoga practice, an introduction to cacao as well as a restorative sound bath. Exactly how I weave this together will be evolving over the next few weeks.

Extended Yoga Practice

The yoga practice will be suitable for all levels, including beginners. Do let me know, however, if you are a complete beginner, just so I am aware. Please also do let me know in advance of the day if you have any specific health issues that might affect your practice so I am able to plan for suitable modifications/alternatives within the practice.

There will be a short break after our yoga practice where you can enjoy some refreshments - various teas, coffee, juices and cakes which I will provide. Do let me know about any allergies/food preferences you have in this regard at the time of booking.

Sacred Cacao

I will be introducing some sacred cacao into our time together - this is a plant medicine in the form of a drink which has many benefits for our physical and spiritual wellbeing. It is pure chocolate of the highest quality (raw and organic) which when used with intention, can be a powerful catalyst for healing work. On a physical level it is an Incan Superfood full of antioxidants and minerals, but it is also known for its beautiful heart-opening properties that can help you to connect on a more deeper level with the energetic space of the heart. It can help to enhance the benefit of meditation and sound work which we will be enjoying together on this mini retreat.

Contraindications to Cacao

Please note that ceremonial-grade cacao is not recommended for anyone who is taking antidepressants (cacao contains MAO inhibitors), has a serious heart condition, has very high blood pressure or suffers epilepsy. Raw cacao contains histamine. Pregnant women should take smaller amounts. These contraindications relate to the fact that raw cacao contains caffeine, theobromine (which can boost blood flow and lift mood) and also can lower blood pressure, these aspects might interfere with medications related to the above conditions.

Just things to be aware of, also having the cacao is completely optional. If any of the above contraindications apply to you please do let me know, I will gladly provide an alternative in these circumstances.

Sound Bath

We will either do a meditation alongside the cacao or perhaps a drum journey. I am going to see what evolves when I'm planning and this will lead us into our restorative sound bath. The effect of the cacao should help to enhance the healing and heart-opening effect of the sound bath. For our sound bath I bring all my instruments which includes various drums, chimes, Tibetan and Quartz singing bowls as well as my Gongs.

This mini retreat is intended as an opportunity for some self-care and a chance to focus on your own needs in terms of mind, body and spirit. It is also a time to have some peace and quiet away from your otherwise busy lives. You will leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.

The setting is very tranquil in a beautiful little village in Kent so it will provide a lovely setting for some rest and rejuvenation. I look forward to sharing this yoga retreat day with you all. Namaste ૐ

Cost: £40.00 (includes all of the above, refreshments and a small gift to take home. Scroll down for information on how to book)

What to bring:

  • A yoga mat and any props you might have, i.e. yoga blocks, straps, bolsters.

  • A blanket (to keep nice and warm in relaxation)

  • A cushion (just any cushion from your sofa – to use for comfort in meditation and/or relaxation)

  • A special cup or mug for your cacao

  • An open mind, a willing heart and a smile ૐ

Location:

The Meadow Room,

The Street, Cobham, Kent

DA12 3BZ

The venue is about 15/20 minutes drive from Dartford and very easy to find – it is on the opposite side of the road to St Mary Magdalene Church in Cobham. Better to use "The Meadow Room, Cobham" in the google map search than the postcode. This seems to give a better guide.

Parking: There is a free car park adjacent to the hall. Please note that the hall manager previously advised me that it is okay to park in the disabled bays and on the hatched areas (if need be) as these are just for use of hall users and not the general public.
