Sunday 1st July 2018 – 10.30am to 4.30pm
I wasn’t initially planning on running a Summer Yoga Day as I know everyone can get very busy over this time period (myself included!) and the venue I used for our Spring Yoga Day was SUPER booked up, however, I loved the venue so much that I thought it would be nice to try to use it during the warmer summer months too and I just managed to secure this day with the venue.
I had intended to put the date out as a “save the date” initially but since mentioning it on Facebook I appear to be taking bookings already, so bookings are open and places limited to 27 to provide optimum comfort.
I am holding this day retreat around the time of the Summer Solstice as these times of seasonal transition help to keep us close to the rhythms of nature and help us to remember we are part of a much bigger picture. We also get to benefit from the high energy around these transitions in the year which heightens the sense of coming together as a group with a shared intention.
The Summer Solstice, also known as midsummer, marks the longest day of the year and is a natural turning point in nature and the Earth’s yearly cycle representing the height of summer and a doorway into the second half of the year. This makes it the perfect time to celebrate this turning point with a full day of yoga!
The precise structure of the day will evolve over the coming weeks but we will explore a variety of yoga practices together to include a mix of warming yang and soothing yin yoga practices, pranayama, meditation, chanting (just a little bit!), a sound bath with Gong and Tibetan singing bowls, relaxation and anything else I can dream up between now and then!
Similar to my previous yoga day retreats I would ask that you bring your own lunch with you, however, I will be providing various teas, coffee, juices, water as well as biscuits, nibbles and healthy snacks, etc. for everyone to enjoy. We have access to a kitchen so there will be a fridge there if anyone needs to keep their lunch in the fridge!
There is also a beautiful “meadow” adjacent to the hall so weather permitting (fingers crossed being July!) there might be an opportunity to get some fresh air together.
As with previous days, the idea behind the day is to allow for plenty of “you” time and peace and quiet away from your otherwise busy lives. The setting is very tranquil in a beautiful little village so there really will be a sense of getting away from it all. We also have exclusive use of the venue so it will provide a lovely setting for some rest and rejuvenation.
Your investment for the day will be £45 (early bird until 3 weeks before the event at which point it will increase to £50). You can find details of what to bring, the location of the venue, contact details, terms and conditions, etc. on my dedicated yoga day page. ૐ
