Our next Family Yoga Workshop will be on Sunday 12th November 2017 from 10.25am to 12.35pm to be held in a new venue in the Education Room at Hall Place in Bexley. I thought it would be nice to try somewhere different this time and this is a lovely bright space with lots of natural light and doors that concertina back the entire length of the room opening onto a small private garden.
The venue is also ideally placed for a family day out with the beautiful grounds of Hall Place right in situ, a cafe opposite and a restaurant next door and then lots of free on-site parking!
If you haven’t been to my (or any) family yoga workshops before, they are a fantastic opportunity for adults, whether they be parents, grandparents, older siblings, Aunts, Uncles or carers, etc. to enjoy yoga with their children, grandchildren, etc. in a light-hearted setting. With regard to ages the workshop is suitable for ages 2 years and over. At the last workshop I had ages ranging from 2 years old to 13 years so it really does work on different levels for all ages but any younger than 2 years and they wouldn’t really be able to participate fully.
We take a fun approach to yoga during this 2-hour workshop during which we explore a variety of yoga poses suitable for both adults and children (complete beginners welcome and encouraged!). We also look at partner poses, games, breathing exercises for relaxation and have some quiet time too. There is something for everyone and it is led in an easy-going environment where your children have the space and freedom to explore the shapes they can make with their bodies and use their imaginations while learning some yoga and tools for relaxation. For adults the session covers all the usual aspects of a yoga class and is the perfect opportunity to bond with your children and, if you are new to yoga, this is a chance to familiarise yourself with some classic yoga postures in a completely relaxed environment.
This time we will be going on a Journey to the Magic Kingdom (think castles, princes, princesses, knights, dragons, wizards and fairies….) and children are welcome to bring a cuddly or two – possibly linked to the theme of the workshop but not to worry if not!. To see a short video and some photos of a previous workshop went please see my Children’s Yoga page! All in all the workshops are enjoyed by children and adults alike.
As this is a smaller venue than previously numbers will be limited to about 25 maximum and must be pre-booked and paid for in advance to be secured. To find out a little more about price, venue and what to bring please click here.
Hope to see some of you there!!
