What a fun morning at our Family Yoga Workshop! This time 36 yogis ranging from 3 years to 72 years old joined me as we headed off on an Island Adventure.
This was my fourth Family Yoga Workshop and each one has gone from strength to strength as I learn what aspects people enjoy most and what works best! This was our biggest turnout yet and definitely a full house. What I love most about these sessions is seeing how relaxed all the adults are when they have their children around them. A lot of the adults joining me were regulars from my adult yoga classes but equally there were lots of people I hadn’t met before either and something about being with their children enabled everyone to relax and enter fully into the spirit of the morning. Previous experience again ranged from complete beginners – both among the adults and children – to yogis who had been practising for several years, but in this environment it is not so much about ability as about relaxing, having fun and creating memories with your children or grandchildren.
We included lots of aspects of yoga in our session, a brief focus on breathing, lots of movement and partner work, of course time for relaxation and savasana and then an active energetic time for yoga games. All presented and approached in a fun, lighthearted way. So much positive energy in the group today and so many smiles and laughter, it is truly a pleasure to lead these family yoga sessions 🙂
Here are a few photos of just “some” of the poses we looked at on our adventure…
All in all a very full and exciting Island Adventure! Next adventure will be in the Autumn…where shall we go next???
