As there has been so much interest in my New Moon Yoga and Sound Bath I have decided to run a Christmas Sound Bath on Friday 14th December at my Europa Gymnastics Centre venue. This will run from 10.45am to 11.45am after my yoga class in the morning. My Mindful Yin Yoga class is not running in December so this will take this usual teaching slot.
I know there were quite a few people who were unable to book onto the New Moon Yoga and Sound Bath with it being fully booked but with my evening venue being a smaller space I had to limit numbers to 18 in order to be comfortable within the space especially as we will also be practising yoga. I will definitely be running events like these in the future so there will certainly be other opportunities. In the meantime I also wanted to include a sound offering to my morning yogis and perhaps people who are interested in sound healing but not so much yoga, hence running the sound bath at Europa. I brought my singing bowls to my last Mindful Yin Yoga class of the year this week and the effect on those who attended was so wonderful that it inspired me to run this sound bath on our last Friday together.
Many of you who have been to my Yoga Days will have already experienced the bliss of a therapeutic sound bath but for those of you who haven’t, the best way to understand it truly is to experience it! The sound of the Gong and the singing bowls transport you to a place of deep bliss and relaxation and to a new level of consciousness that helps you to disconnect and relax into yourselves. The frequencies and sounds of the Gong and the singing bowls cannot be predicted by the mind so it slows the brainwaves into a meditative Theta State.
As our bodies are made of 60-70% water and are ideal conductors for the vibrational energy of the Gong and singing bowls, the rippling effect of the sound vibrations translate as soothing, meditative sound waves reverberating throughout your entire body.
We use the terms “Gong” or “Sound Bath” to describe this immersive vibrational experience of pure sound which feels as though you are being “bathed” in sound waves and vibrations.
I will be running this as a drop-in session as the studio is very spacious so I don’t anticipate there will be a problem with accommodating everyone who wishes to attend and in addition with being purely a sound bath rather than yoga and sound bath combined it means we literally only need mat space.
Cost will be £7 drop in and class pass holders may use their passes for this. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one, a blanket to keep warm, a cushion if you think you might need this to feel comfortable and possibly an eye pillow/eye mask if you have one.
Hope to see some of you there! ૐ
