Autumn Rejuvenation Yoga Day Retreat – FULLY BOOKED
Sunday 1st October 2017 – 10.30am to 4.00pm
This retreat day has already been held and what a wonderful day it was, click here to read how it went! Next retreat day being planned for March 2018 (details to be confirmed shortly)
So this will be my first full day retreat and I am very excited to have found a beautiful, tranquil location for it and to be able to share it with you all.
I wanted to hold this retreat around the time of the Autumn Equinox (22nd September) as this represents a point of balance between the Summer Solstice and the Winter Solstice. Autumn is thus a period of transition from the more “yang” and active summer months to the more “yin” and slower winter months. In itself it is a “yin” season as everything starts to slow down. All around us change is clear to see in this season: changes in weather and in nature, days become shorter, rhythms shift and we begin to move towards a more mellow, softer time, encouraging us to look inwards and reflect.
I will use the various practices we explore during the day to support this seasonal transition and to help us leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated.
The precise structure of the day will be evolving over the next few months as I weave my ideas together but at this stage to allow an idea of what the day will involve, I anticipate having a longer more “yang” yoga class in the morning to get our energy up and warm our bodies, this will also include time for pranayama and savasana relaxation of course.
We will then take a short break for lunch together. I would ask that you bring your own lunch with you given that there are so many “diet” options these days (in my family alone we are vegan, vegetarian, pescatarian and meat-eater!!). However, I will be providing teas, juices, water as well as biscuits, nibbles and healthy snacks, etc. for everyone to enjoy. Weather permitting we can eat our lunch outside as there are tables outside the venue and by the pond.
Also weather permitting, and if there is interest among the group, we can take a short walk and explore the adjoining woodland after lunch- maybe even use it as an opportunity for meditation but we can play that by ear.
Otherwise the afternoon session will include a more “yin” yoga class, time for relaxation through meditation, yoga nidra and a sound healing session. This will allow you plenty of “me” time and peace and quiet away from our otherwise busy lives.
Cost of the day: As I have had quite a bit of early interest I am going to offer three “tiers” regarding the cost of the day depending on when you book.
“Super” early bird price (until 31 July 2017): £40
Early bird price (until 31 August 2017): £45
Standard price: £50
The Seeker’s Trust, Churchfield,
Addington, West Malling, Kent
The venue that we are using is the larger venue located where shown by the red pin on the map below.
It is about 20 minutes drive from Dartford and easy to find.
Parking: There is parking within the grounds a minute or so walk from the hall. It is located where it says “The Seekers Trust” on the map above and you can cut across to the hall we are using.
What to bring:
- A yoga mat (if you need to borrow one please ask me in advance as I will have a lot to bring with me so I won’t bring spare mats unless requested beforehand)
- A blanket (to keep nice and warm in relaxation and also to use as a prop during our yin yoga practice)
- A cushion (just any cushion from your sofa – again to use for comfort in meditation and/or as a prop)
- If you do already have blocks/straps, etc. then bring them but it is not necessary to buy any as I will bring mine
- A packed lunch
- Please bring a mug along for tea/drinks. There are cups there but I’m not sure how many (plus I like a nice big mug for my tea 🙂 )
- An open mind, a willing heart and a smile ૐ
